#10 Roberto Carlos

Roberto, now retired was a fantastic Brazilian footballer and once described as "the most offensive-minded Left back in the history of the game". Carlos' nickname in Brazil was Hombre Bala, which meant "The bullet man", he was given this nickname because of the amount of power he struck the ball on a free kick. Carlos was a top player.

#9 Paolo Maldini

Maldini was a truly brilliant defender, he was brave, solid, and read the game exceptionally well. Maldini is a legend at Milan, had a very long, successful career at the San Siro. Maldini could play either Left back, or Center back and was comfortable using both feet.

#8 Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan is one of the best current footballers in world football. Standing just under 6ft6 Ibra is incredible at winning aerial battles, but the big Swedish striker has much, much more to his game. There aren't many better than Ibra in front of goal, he has fantastic technique. Zlatan also can hold the ball up very well, using his body strength to bring others into play.

#7 Rivaldo

Another Brazilian legend, Rivaldo was pure class. Rivaldo, who is at the end of his career is playing for Sao Caetano, who are a lower league Brazilian club. However most football fans know him because of his days at Barcelona, Rivaldo was untouchable and could either play as an attacking midfielder or a striker, he scored some wonderful goals for Barcelona.

#6 Luis Figo

Figo is now retired, but he was one of the very greatest footballers. The Portuguese midfielder was a very conversational player, he was one of the best footballers in the world when he made the switch from FC Barcelona, to rivals Real Madrid. That did not go down well with the Barcelona fans, and usually Madrid wouldn't offer for Barcelona players, however because Figo was such a good player, Madrid were willing to pay a very large amount of money to lure Figo to the Spanish capital.

#5 Ronaldinho

A sensational footballer, magic with the ball at his feet. Ronaldinho really was like a true Brazilian, had so much skills. Ronaldinho played his best football in Spain with FC Barcelona, where he very much was the star man in their team. Ronaldinho could do anything, he scored many brilliant goals for Barcelona.

#4 Xavi

The midfield maestro of FC Barcelona. Xavi is still currently playing for Barcelona, and is still very much one of their most important players. Xavi's range of passing is probably the best in the world, and Xavi's at the heart of most things that Barca do. Xavi has been a fantastic player over the years for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

#3 Ronaldo (Brazil)

The Brazilian Ronaldo was one of the greatest ever strikers to play the game. In his prime, Ronaldo had unbelievable pace, I can't imagine many forwards were faster than Ronaldo, but what made him the player he was, was his finishing. There aren't many finishers quite like Ronaldo, he was deadly in front of goal, nearly anything he hit went it. Brilliant player.

#2 Zinedine Zidane

Zidane is now an assistant coach and sporting director of Real Madrid, and it was Real Madrid where he was at his best. A fantastically talented individual, who's best position was an attacking midfielder. Zidane's ball control was sensational, and scored some wonderful goals in his time at Real and Juventus. Zidane was one of the best ever to play.

#1 Lionel Messi

The best footballer in the world, arguably the best ever. The little Argentine magician can do anything. Messi is short, but very strong. His acceleration on the ball is second to none, and his finishing is superb. Lionel Messi is a joy to watch, and one day, it would be nice to see this genius play in the Premier League.
