Champions League 2013-14: Full List of Predictions Ahead of Matchday 6

Tuesday, 10 December 2013

This week, the curtain comes down on the group stage of the Champions League, with plenty of clubs still uncertain as to whether they'll be featuring in the knockout rounds.
With eight places in the Round of 16 still up for grabs, several all-or-nothing shootouts are on the horizon.
Looking ahead to this week's final group encounters, read on for a full prediction of who will come out on top of their upcoming clashes, as well as a breakdown of the biggest matchups.

Napoli vs. Arsenal

Group F has easily been one of the most entertaining pools to keep an eye on during this season's Champions League. Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli are all jostling to make it into the knockout phases come the final day of group action.
The Gunners are currently pitched three points in front of their fellow contenders and need only a point in Naples to ensure that they finish top of the pile. Even a narrow defeat would see them advance.
That being said, the Italians are yet to drop a home point in Europe this term and will have hopes of ensuring their own Champions League dream is kept alive.
They will likely have to rely on Marseille to get a result against the Black and Yellows, although a 3-0 win for Napoli over Arsenal would take matters into their own hands. A pulsating contest surely awaits.

Prediction: Napoli 1-1 Arsenal

Milan vs. Ajax

Two of the continent's longest-serving bastions come together this week on the closest terms they'll have experienced for a number of years.
Milan and Ajax have met on 10 previous occasions in the Champions League, and it's surprisingly the Dutch representatives who boast a superior winning record against their Italian counterparts.

This Wednesday, the European giants come together once again, Milan currently fighting for their lives in Serie A's top half while Ajax are competing for domestic honours once more.

Milan's season has been far from satisfactory, but with only a point separating these two parties, the Rossoneri will look to shine some cheer on their campaign by booking their place in the knockout stages.
Prediction: Milan 1-1 Ajax

Galatasaray vs. Juventus
It's very much a case of all-or-nothing for Roberto Mancini's Galatasaray this week, the Turkish club currently two points behind second-place Juventus and needing a win in order to advance in the competition.

For Antonio Conte's men, a draw would be enough to seal Group B's runners-up spot, but that will be a difficult result to come by in Istanbul.
In the reverse of this fixture, Gala managed to take a 2-2 draw from Turin and will be even more tenacious in their attempts this time around, putting on what's likely to be a hostile atmosphere.
The ball is in Juve's court for this one as the Bianconeri look to do what they could not at the Old Lady and finish the Super Lig champions off.
Prediction: Galatasaray 2-2 Juventus
