Newcastle United 5-1 Stoke City
Newcastle United came from a goal behind to beat nine-man Stoke City 5-1 at St. James' Park.
Stoke went ahead in the 29th minute through Oussama Assaida, but their fortunes worsened from there.
Glenn Whelan drew a red card in the 40th minute after receiving his second booking. Three minutes later, Marc Wilson was sent off as well after conceding a foul—and a penalty—in the box. Wilson was deemed the last defender and shown the red card.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes was also sent to the stands for dissent.
Loic Remy missed the penalty but converted the rebound to bring Newcastle level at half-time. Newcastle then dominated with a two-man advantage after the break. Yoan Gouffran (48'), Remy (56'), Yohan Cabaye (66') and Papiss Demba Cisse (penalty 80') scored the goals.
Newcastle, who have won three of their last four league matches, are sixth with 33 points. Stoke are 10th with 21 points.
